Since I’ve been deployed out out here to Afghanistan, I’ve become a bit of a news junkie. I’ve subscribed to newsletters of all sorts from most of the country’s major newspapers, as well as a few others around my home state of MN, and also places where I’ve been stationed. One newsletter that it seems every newspaper website has is a “Breaking News” -letter, and I’ve found it interesting how quickly some things reach my inbox.

US Officials Believe Al-Qaeda on Brink of Collapse – 26 July 2011
US counter-terrorism officials believe that with the killing of Osama bin Laden, and 7+ years of drone strikes, it won't be long until Al-Qaeda is no longer viable.
