Since I’ve been deployed out out here to Afghanistan, I’ve become a bit of a news junkie. I’ve subscribed to newsletters of all sorts from most of the country’s major newspapers, as well as a few others around my home state of MN, and also places where I’ve been stationed. One newsletter that it seems every newspaper website has is a “Breaking News” -letter, and I’ve found it interesting how quickly some things reach my inbox.

China Train Derailment – 23 July 2011
A bullet train derailed and partly fell off a bridge.
1.Fox News (first to alert; 11 reported dead at the time)
2.MSNBC: +194 minutes (obviously, more time to get better information for this alert; reportedly now 32 dead from this accident)
