Since I’ve been deployed out out here to Afghanistan, I’ve become a bit of a news junkie. I’ve subscribed to newsletters of all sorts from most of the country’s major newspapers, as well as a few others around my home state of MN, and also places where I’ve been stationed. One newsletter that it seems every newspaper website has is a “Breaking News” -letter, and I’ve found it interesting how quickly some things reach my inbox.

Emmy Nominations Released – 14 July 2011
Of course this would be worthy of breaking news alerts.
First to report the nominations was E! Online (just for the heck of it)
Second, 6 minutes later, was the Los Angeles Times
Third, after another 16 minutes, was the Denver Post
