Since I’ve been deployed out out here to Afghanistan, I’ve become a bit of a news junkie. I’ve subscribed to newsletters of all sorts from most of the country’s major newspapers, as well as a few others around my home state of MN, and also places where I’ve been stationed. One newsletter that it seems every newspaper website has is a “Breaking News” -letter, and I’ve found it interesting how quickly some things reach my inbox.

US Embassy, Ambassador's Residence Attacked by Mob in Syria - 11 July 2011
I didn't hear much about this one, though I'm taking that as a good thing. The headline sorta says it all.
The only alert I received for this was by the Richmond Times-Dispatch.
